Surly, we all want to look our best by washing our faces and applying products that makes us look more beautiful and gorgeous on it but we often in this process treat our faces wrongly without knowing it. Just in case you’re wondering how wrong you’ve been doing this and how well it should be done, here are some ways to go about it.
SLEEPING WITH MAKEUP
Washing your face without removing your makeup is wrong and improper since the dirt or impurities caused by the makeup remains on the face until it is scrubbed away. This could result in harsh facial treatment, making the facial skin dry, red and tight.
WHAT TO DO: Using a cotton bud and a moisturizer or baby oil, clean every makeup by rubbing gently on the face to get rid of the dirt caused by the makeup
THE USE OF HOT WATER
While some have considered steam or hot water wash as the best way to get rid of excessive dirt on facial skin, this does not in any way treat the face right, rather, it has a harsh effect on the facial skin, making it very dry.
WHAT TO DO: Go for cold tap or lukewarm water
USING WRONG PRODUCTS
We often want to look our best from using some make believe facial beauty products which are not exactly so good on our skin since some of these beauty products have a negative effect on the face.
WHAT TO DO: Reach out for a cleanser of good quality that can remove facial makeup, excessive dirt and retain natural oil on skin.
NOT WASHING YOUR HAND BEFORE WASHING YOUR FACE
Not too many of us take cognizance of this , therefore we take the habit of just opening the water tap and splashing some water over the face, using our hands.
WHAT TO DO: Start by washing your hands first to get rid of germs
OVER WASHING YOUR FACE
For some this has become a regular habit with the mind set that the failure to wash the face would lead to the production of excessive dirt and result in numerous skin problems. However, washing the face consistently could cause the skin to get irritated, produce more oil and result in wrinkles.
WHAT TO DO: Wash your face at most twice a day; after waking up in the morning and before going to bed at night.
Exfoliating your skin sure helps you to get rid of dead skin cells and improves your skin texture; making your skin healthy, however if it is not done right it could result in the reversal.
WHAT TO DO: Exfoliate your skin at most twice a week using an exfoliation scrub; a mix of sugar and honey, apply over the face and rub gently, then, rinse it off using lukewarm water.
Scrubbing your face too hard isn’t healthy as it could cause a lot of damage to your facial skin resulting in skin inflammation and broken capillaries.
